Venice Carr, 92

Mrs. Venice Carr, 92, Taylorsville, MS ( New Hopewell community) passed away on September 20, 2023.

 

Mrs. Carr was a woman of unwavering faith and deep love for her family.  She grew up in challenging times, working in the fields and spending much of life at Sanderson Farms.  Her Christian faith served as the cornerstone of her life.  She was a devoted and dedicated member of New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.  Her love for her family knew no bounds.  She inspired those around her with her tireless resolve.  Her resilience was a beacon of hope and a reminder to all who knew her that one could rise above any challenge with determination and faith.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents;  two husbands, Talma Owens and Curtis Carr; six children, Mary Francis(Johnnie OD) Haynes, Rose Marie(Larry) Pickering, Bobby Owens, Michael Owens, Dwight Owens and Alp Owens. Siblings, Joe Robert( Mary Louise) Clark, Howard (Vera) Clark, and Joe Lewis (Magdalene )Clark.

 

Survivors include 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren.  She was an aunt to a host of nieces and nephews.
