Richard Leon Pope, 72

Mr. Richard "Barnabas" Leon Pope, 72, passed away on June 22, 2026, at Hillcrest Nursing Facility, Magee, MS.

Mr. Pope was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. He treasured his family, and his love, strength, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Legusts Bryant and Jannie Pope; beloved daughter, Tamara "Tammy" Pope; brothers, Reggie Pope, Johnny Ray Pope, Mack Charles"MC" Pope, and James "Jap" Pope; and sister, Deborah Bryant.

Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria Patrick Pope; sons, Richard Jasper, Fernanco Patrick, and Frederick Patrick; sisters, Minnie Smith, Caroline Pope, and Gwendolyn Bryant; brothers, Larry (Diane) Pope, Tony Bryant, and Phillip Bryant; 21 beloved grandchildren; one precious great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
