Mr. Ray "Bee" Griffith, 61, Collins, MS ( Formerly of Bassfield, MS) passed away on April 30, 2023.
Mr. "Bee" Griffith completed his formal education at Bassfield High School. He was employed by Five County Development and Transportation(Bassfield and Collins) and Covington County School District. He served as a custodian, maintenance employee, landscaper, and most importantly a bus driver caring for his passengers.
Early in life, he joined Bassfield Pentecostal Church. Later in life, he joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Collins where he served as a member of the Adult Choir and Men's Choir. He was also the church bus driver. He enjoyed his family, church family, and countless friends. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys NFL Team, Bassfield Yellowjackets, the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars, and the legendary Lee Williams.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his bonus son, Sherman Ratliff.
Survivors include his parents, Bobbie Jean Griffith and Charles Rufus Echols, both of Bassfield; children, D'Juan Jones, Bassfield, Chris Jones, Columbia, MS, Ray'Veo Griffith, Collins; brothers, Craig Echols( Cobbie), Hattiesburg, MS, Vincent Echols, Charles Echols (Karen) Ricky Griffith, Dave Echols, Christopher Griffith and Richard Griffith, all of Bassfield. Sisters, Francis Moore, Michelle ( Luther) Easterling, Daphne(Carlos) Griffith, all of Bassfield, and Meoshi McNair, Gulfport, MS. Bonus daughter, Contessa Williams, Columbia, MS, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; along with life companion, Victoria Ratliff,
