Minnie Lee Weathersby McDonald, 81

Mrs. Minnie Lee Weathersby McDonald, 81, Magee, MS, passed away at her residence on March 17, 2025.

Mrs. McDonald was a graduate of Magee Consolidated School, Class of 1961. She later attended Piney Woods Country Life School. She spent some time in Chicago, IL, and later returned to MS in 1966. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove CME Church and served in multiple

As First Lady, she supported her husband in various churches; Wesley Chapel CME Church, Fannin, MS, Haynes Chapel CME Church, Pelathatchie, MS, Zion Hill CME Church, Meridian, MS., Oak Grove CME Church Laudable, MS, Cottrell CME CHurch, Hattiesburg, MS and Victory Full Gospel Church, Hattiesburg, MS.

She was the owner and operated the McDonald Christian Bookstore in downtown Magee, where she touched the lives of hundreds and built lasting relationships over three decades until her health began to fail.

Throughout her life, she was a lighthouse of inspiration and encouragement for others on their Christian journey, inspiring individuals from diverse backgrounds, both young and old, to remain committed to their faith in Christ Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kylie and Josephine Spells Weathersby; six siblings, Kylie Weathersby, Jr., Doshie Buckhalter, Arby Weathersby, Huey P. Weathersby, and Alma Gant. Four grandchildren, Victoria McDonald, Joel McDonald, Micah Johnson, and Joshua L. McDonald.

As the beloved matriarch, survivors include her loving husband, Reverend Havard McDonad, Sr.; children, Renett DF. McDonald Hayes, Havard McDonald, Jr., ( Kimberly), Delphene McDpma;d-Johnson and Leonard K. McDonad, Sr( Marleah); along with her goddaughter, Gloria( Curtis) Hobbs, and brother, Howard Weathersby. Grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of church family members and Christian friends.
