Mattie Kaye McCullum Barnes, 72

Mrs. Mattie Kaye McCulllum Barnes, 72, passed away on August 14, 2026.

Mrs. Barnes dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and inspired many through her service, encouragement, and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W. C. and Mattie Mae McCollum; brothers, Johnny, Charlie Judge, Lewis Prewitt, Jr., Lawyer McCollum, and Howard Pruitt.

Survivors include her husband, Ivy Lee Barnes; her children, Charles ( Jan) Prewitt, and Angela Barnes. Seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. Siblings, Willie Frank, Louis, Alford, Mary McCollum, Alice Williamson, Shirley McDonald, Annie Baldwin, and Caregiver, Toni Tatum, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
