Mrs. Mae Ruth Tillman Magee passed away on March 20, 2024.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Magee, and Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Mendenhall, MS, and remained a faithful member until her health failed. She had an unwavering faith in God. Her loving spirit was displayed by her constant nurturing of love and by referring to everyone she cared for as "Baby." She loved to pray, sing, attend church, dress nice, look good from her unique hairstyle to her glamour nails, shop, go to events, and spend time with her family and friends.
She was a proud member of the 1966 graduating class of McLaurin Vocational Attendance Center, Magee; She retired from Magnetek, Inc., Mendenhall after over 25 years of service. She was a proud and diligent member of the union where she gained many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ammon (A, T.) Tillman, Jr and Martha Hubbard Tillman, as well as Mary Tillman; Albert and Pecolia Weathersby; sisters, Azionlean Blackwell, Josephine Blackwell, Janet Banks, Bertha Tillman, Martha Owens, Eddie Dean Blackwell, Rosie Lee Hayes, and Wilene Weathersby; son in law, Thomas William Moore.
Survivors include her children, Darlene Moore, Willie Magee, III, Vanessa (David) Hall and Christopher (Selena) Magee; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, J. T.(Gloria) Tillman O. D, (Margaret) Tillman, John (Elizabeth) Tillman, Roosevelt Tillman, Rick Tillman, Calvin Tillman and W. C Weathersby; sisters, Gloria (Henry) Overby, Katherine (S. L.) Craft, Rosie (Levester) Rhodes and Ammie Tillman; a special friend Sammie (S. L.) Blackwell; loyal family friends of many years, Mary and Sherry Moore; and a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
