Johnnie McLaurin, 61

Mr. Johnnie Willie (Chappie) McLaurin, 61, Mount Olive, MS died on July 23, 2023 at his residence.

 

Mr. McLaurin attended Lincoln Attendance Center and Mount Olive HIgh School and was a graduate of the class of 1979.  He was an independent contractor welder by trade.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jr, McLaurin, Jeanette McLaurin Lamb and step father, Emmitt Lamb; son, Julian McLaurin; brothers, Louis McLaurin and Emmitt Munich Lamb.

 

Survivors include his wife, Dominique Brown; four children,Jena(Steven Ducksworht, Hattiesburg, MS, Jamilya(David) Williams, Clilnton, MS, JaQuarius McLaurin and Christian Jamal McLaurin, both of Mt. Olive; four bonus children.  Sisters, Lennette (JImmy Thompson), Mt. Olive, Sarah Lamb, Ridgeland, Geraldine Carr and Marilyn Jones, both of Mt. Olive; brothers, Hulon McLaurin and Douglas Lamb both of Mt. Olive, Basil McLaurin, FL, Philip, Charles and Albert Mclaurin, all of MS, Christopher and Reginad SMith, both of MS; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Honorary Pallbearers:  Hulon McLaurin , Douglas Lamb, Marion McLaurin, Miguiel Hill, Albert McLaurin, JaQuarius McLaurin, Carl HIll and Adam Thompson.

 

Pastor Steven Duckworth was the Officiant.
