Mr.Duckworth passed away on Monday, September 232, 2025, at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, MS, surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family.
He lived a life filled with hard work, faith, and family. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Mt. Zion Jr. Church and served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, and was faithful to God and his church until his health failed. He served as the church custodian, Superintendent of Sunday School, President of the Usher Board, and President of Covington, Simpson, and Smith County Usher Board Convention.
He received his education in Smith County and dedicated forty-seven years of service to W. E. Blain Company. He also worked with the Covington County Board of Supervisors for twelve years. He was a man of simple joys and found peace riding his tractor, tending to his garden, and traveling with his family. He was always with his family on their many trips. His life was a testament of love, faith, and devotion. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Savannah Duckworth. Brothers, C. J. Duckworth, Billy Joe Duckworth, Less Duckworth, and Richard Duckworth; two sisters, Mary Duckworth and Fannie Duckworth; one grandson, Danderion Duckworth; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie Williams and Presley Belle.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Loretta Jones Duckworth; sons, Danny (Sandra) Duckworth, Mendenhall, MS, Arthur Duckworth, and Bobby (Monique) Duckworth, all of Mount Olive; three daughters, Lisa Belle, Melissa Duckworth, and Kimberly (Calvion) Keller, all of Mount Olive. Three brothers, Jerry ( Lorean) Duckworth, John (Bertha) Duckworth, and Oliver Duckworth, all of Mount Olive. Three sisters, Hattie Feqzell and Katherine Duckworth, both of Mount Olive, and Johnnie Mae Turner, St. Petersburg, FL; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
