George Robert (Bobby) Gibbs

Mr. George Robert "Bobby" Gibbs, 65, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Hammond, LA.

Mr. Gibbs was affectionately called "Bobby" and was the 12th of 14 children. He joined Mt. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Collins, MS at an early age. He attended the Covington County School System. He was full of life and enjoyed the beauty of it all. He was passionate and knowledgeable about his skill as a mechanical technician, among many other things.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G. W. and Kattie Gibbs; six brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include one son, Dale Barnes, one daughter, Charlene Stroud, one bonus daughter, Rachel Terrence Payton; three granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter; a sister, Lessie(Wallace) Hathorn, and one brother, Victor L. Gibbs. Special friend, Paul Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Reverend Lina Fairley was the Officiant.
