Pastor Emmett Sullivan, Houston, TX( formerly of Collins, MS-Shady Oak Community), passed away at Baylor St. Luke Hospital, Houston, TX.

He was a graduate of Collins High School, Collins, MS, where he participated in Future Farmers of America( FFA). He was active at Shady Oak MBC, where he was an usher and sang in the church choir. He attended Jones Junior College and received a Certificate of Automotive Degree. He worked as an Automotive Mechanic and moved to Houston, TX, and joined the Full Gospel Church of Love in Christ. In 1988, he began his career as a truck driver with Air Liquide ( later changed to Airgas, LLC). He was employed for over 30 years and retired in March 2021. He accepted his calling to the ministry and was licensed to preach the Word of God in November 2002. He was also a member of Bibleway Baptist Church as an Associate Minister under Pastor Mitchell. He was the president of the Mission Department and continued to serve others until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Sr and Gerldine Sullian; first wife, Doris Mays Sullivan; two brothers, E. L. Sullivan and Liddell Sullivan.

Survivors include his wife, Sherri Hogans-Sullivan, Houston, TX; daughters, Sherissa Blount, Glendale, CA, and Miranda Brooks, Houston, TX; son, Joshua Hogans, Sr., Houston, TX. Brother, Charles Sullivan, Collins; sisters, Everlean Sullivan Booth( Geveion), Lorene Bender ( Austin), and Essie Agee( Willie), all of Collins. Grandchildren, Joshua Hogans, Jr., and Jahlon Hogans, both of Houston; Mother-in-law, Donnha Harris(Eliot), Pearland, TX., and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, countless friends, church members, and coworkers who were touched by his kindness, humor, and love.
