Ms. Doris Ann Payne, 76, passed away on March 14, 2026.
Ms. Payne was a graduate of McLaurin High School, Magee, MS, and joined Goodwater CME Church, Magee, MS, at an early age. She later joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Olive, where she remained a faithful member.
She was employed at Magnetek Corporation for a number of years and later held various jobs throughout her life. She was known for her strong work ethic, quiet strength, and caring spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Medie McInnis and Hilbert Payne; daughters, Veronica Andrews and Lucinda Myers; sister, Annie Delores Johnson, and brother, S. C. McInnis, Jr.
Survivors include children, Benjamin Payne, Collins MS, and Lukinda Myers, Mount Olive. Sisters, Carolyn Covington, Las Vegas, NV, and Helen Jones, Mount Olive, and her beloved grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Special friends, the late Ivy Duckworth, Jr., and Loretta Duckworth.
