Dora Jane Powers, 86

Mrs. Dora Jane Powers,86, Mount Olive, MS passed away on July 21, 2023.

 

Mrs. Powers attended and graduated from Lincoln Attendance Center,Mount Olive, MS.  She was a faithful member of Point Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed.She also was a dedicated member  of the Eastern Stars, Rose.  She loved sewing, baking and taking care of her grandchildren.  

 

Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Josephine Durr; sister, Willie Jean Magee; brother, Wesley Durr, Jr., and Willie Durr; two sons, James Richard Powers and Randy Powers.

 

Survivors include: her children, Joa (Wilbert) Prentiss, MS, Alisa(Aiken) Watts. Hattiesburg, MS, Henry(Bonnie) Powers, George Powers, Stephen Powers, Charles Powers , all of Mount Olive, MS,  Douglas Powers, Arlington, TX, Wayne (Rose) Powers, Savannah, GA, two adopted sons, Henry (Keyaire) Powers,Jr., Memphis, TN, and Abytai  Powers, Gulfport, MS; four sisters, Dorothy Hansborough, Greenville, MS, Louise Flemings, Baton Rouge, LA, Shirley (Edward) Richardson, Houston, TX, Rosie Lee Durr and Betty Stapleton, both of Magee, MS, 23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and a host of  nieces, nephews, family and friends.
