Mr. Boyd McLaurin passed away on June 6, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.
Mr. McLaurin moved to Erie, PA in 1954 and lived there with his family for over thirteen years. He later returned to Mississippi where he worked with Sanderson Farms until his retirement. Known fondly as the "Southern Blues" man, he had a deep love for music and enjoyed watching competitive sports. He also cherished spending time with the elderly and the sick, offering his kindness and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Magee, John Allen McLaurin, and Lena (Easterling) McLaurin; his wife Addie Jean Magee; his son Boyd McLaurin, Jr.; daughters Belinda Johnson, Mildred McLaurin, and Tamika Harper; granddaughter Tara (Missy) McLaurin; grandson Boyd (Quan) McLaurin; siblings Johnnie McLaurin and Clara McLaurin Mathis; and son-in-law Darryl Jamison.
He is survived by his daughters Debora Jamison, Cyntia McLaurin, Latonya White, Monique White, and Mae Sellers; sons Kalvin Myers and Breaun Magee; brother Robert; sisters Mae Ella Harris, Carolyn Fazone, and Catherine Holliman; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, spanning five generations. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends, Wallace Easterling, Grover "Boo" Beason, and Sanders McLaurin.
Pallbearers were Dexter Durr, Nicholas McLaurin, Raymond Hathorn, Demanio Easterling, John Hathorn, and Taylor Harper. Family served as Flower Bearers. Pastor Randy Miller officiated the service.
