Mrs. Ardell Barnes, 99, Taylorsville, MS( New Hopewell Community)died on August 18, 2022.
Mrs. Barnes attended the Covington Schools for some years. She was a member of New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She was a housewife who took care of her husband, children, and church, She was a sweet-spirited, kind-hearted Chrisitan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlee and Mattie Barnes and second Mother, Lena Barnes; husband Houston Barnes; sons, Ed Barnes and Isaac Barnes; daughter, Mattie Musgrove; sisters, Roselle Barnes and Bernice Barnes. 8 brothers, Eloy Barnes, Roy Barnes, J. L. Barnes, Joseph Barnes, Cleo Barnes, Clinton Barnes, Tony Barnes, and Andrew Owens.
Survivors include children, Della(John) Denham, Taylorsville, Levell (Ruth) Barnes, Paris, CA, John ( Elsie) Barnes, Taylorsville, Christopher (Joann) Barnes, Temple, TX., and Johnnie L(Mouri) Barnes, Leander, TX.;
Brothers, Amos Owens, Timothy Barnes(Brenda), Loe Barnes, Hinton Barnes;
Four sisters, Helen ( Willie Ray ) Pickering Bernice Harris, Izola Barnes, and Elnora(Charles)Pickering; daughter-in-law, Gladys Barnes; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
