Mrs. Alma Weathersby Gant, 82, Magee, MS passed away at her residence on February 24, 2023.
She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove CME Church. She was a graduate of Magee Consolidated High School. After moving to Pomona, CA she united with the Holy Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member was active with the Usher Board and held the office of Deaconess President for many years until moving back to MS.
Mrs. Gant was employed as a Certified Nurse's Aide for Landmark Medical Center, Pomona, CA. She continued her education and obtained a license as a Psychiatric Technician and retired from Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino, CA. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, bowling, crocheting, cake decorating and other crafts. She passed along her love of cooking to her daughter, granddaughters and passed along precious recipes from past generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kylie Weathersby and Josephine Spells Weathersby; siblings, Kiley Weathersby, Arby Weathersby, and Hugh Weathersby.
Survivors include her children, Harrison Ricara Gant( Lisa), Kenneth James Gant(Tina), Preston Dorai Gant (Elena) and Robyn Rynette Gant. Brother, Howard Weathersby; sisters, Doshie Buckhalter and Minnie McDonald(Havard); 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one Great-Great grandchild, and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
